WEEKEND ROUND UP

By Deal Town

The Hoops unexpectedly found themselves without a match on Saturday after their home game against Sevenoaks was postponed.

The game was called off because the Sevenoaks coach was caught up in the traffic jam caused by the bridge collapse on the M20.

The first team instead had a training session at the Charles Ground ahead of Monday’s league game at Rochester United and afterwards coach Steve King was able to confirm the signing of three new players on dual registrations, full back Jack Paxman from Ramsgate plus two players from Margate, left-winger Harry Alexander and midfielder Dan Adams.

Deal Reserves meanwhile got their Kent County League season under way on Saturday with a 5-3 defeat at Aylesford in Division 2 Central & East.
