Youth

Deal Town Rangers Football Club

Formed in 1993 from a group of lads kicking a football around the North Deal Playing Field. From this modest beginning it is now one of the biggest youth football clubs in Kent.  We currently have 26 teams ranging from U6s to Veterans, a mixture of boys and girls playing in six different leagues.  Our home is at Goodwin College where our clubhouse is located, our entire training takes place (on the AstroTurf facility) as well as many of our matches.  We also play at Victoria Park (linked to the school by gate & steps) and our U16 Kent Youth League team play at The Charles Road Ground, home of Deal Town FC.  We are a ‘Charter Standard Community Club’, which is the highest accolade that can be awarded to any youth ‘grass roots’ football club. This ensures that every team has a coach who has taken FA Level 1 Coaching Course (at a minimum), treatment of injury course & safeguarding children workshop.

Club Ethos

The club ethos is that every child shall get a chance to play football. No child is turned away and all are welcome. Whilst trophies are considered extra rewards it is participation that is our ultimate aim.

Club Development

As well as providing financial support for courses for club members to progress, the club has developed former players to take on running and assisting to run our youth teams. A number of players and ex-players have qualified as coaches and now assist the club in managing and training teams. We have also paid for young referees who were former players to qualify and who now referee within the club.

Club Committee

The club committee is democratically elected yearly at an AGM to which all members are invited. The committee consists of 11 people, each dedicated to a specific task or tasks within the club. The committee members are extremely experienced in youth football and contain both long serving members and a Kent County FA & East Kent Youth League official.
