SHEPPEY UTD V HOOPS PREVIEW

By Natalie Benville

The Hoops travel to meet a Sheppey United side on Tuesday night who will be eager to get their season up and running.
After winning 5-0 against bottom club Crowborough on the opening day Sheppey have lost their last three matches in league and cup, scoring just one goal in the process. Saturday’s  2-1 defeat at Beckenham left Sheppey in 15th place in the table, and the league’s best supported club will certainly be expecting to finish appreciably higher than that cum the end of the season.
With the Hoops currently in second place Deal manager Derek Hares believes his side can travel to Sheppey in confident mood while acknowledging that Holm Park is always a testing location for away sides.
Hares said after Saturday’s 3-0 win over Rusthall: “We’ve made a good start but that’s all it is. We‘ve now got two tough games coming up at Sheppey on Tuesday and then Lordswood at home, and I think we will have a better idea of where we stand after those two matches.”
