The Hoops extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a battling 1-1 draw at Southern Counties East League newcomers Sheppey United on Tuesday night.
In front of an excellent crowd of 297 at United’s Tiger Stadium at Sheerness, Sheppey took the lead with a 42nd-minute own goal but Deal equalised on the stroke of half-time when Joe Reeves scored his second goal in two matches.
And the two sides then fought out an entertaining second half, with Hoops’ first team coach Steve King tweeting afterwards that the players had “put a real shift in” to earn a deserved point.
