Deal Town Reserves 8 Sittingbourne Community 2

By Deal Town

Deal Town Reserves stretched their unbeaten run in the NRG Gym Kent County League to eight matches with an 8-2 thrashing of Sittingbourne Community in a game which saw five red cards issued at the Charles Ground on Saturday.

Deal dominated the game from the start and Josh Thompson started the rout when he finished off a low cross from Perry Cray.

Cray then made it 2-0 five minutes later and although Gary Elliott reduced the deficit in a rare Sittingbourne sortie on 35 minutes, Thompson restored Deal’s two-goal advantage before half-time from Sam Carpenter’s cross.

Although Thompson hit the bar from the penalty spot five minutes into the second half, substitute Shayne Sanger soon rounded off a good Deal move to make it 4-1.

Steve Crammond scored a second for Sittingbourne with a penalty but Deal then struck twice more  through Cray and substitute Ryan Prescott before Crammond and the Sittingbourne manager were both shown red cards by the referee 15 minutes from time.

Prescott and Thompson then rounded off the scoring before a flare-up after the final whistle saw Deal’s Rikki Christian and another Sittingbourne player red-carded along with the Community assistant-manager. Deal’s man of the match was Matt Causer.
