DEAL KNOCKED OUT OF THE MACRON CHALLENGE CUP

By Deal Town

The Hoops suffered a 1-0 defeat in their Macron SCEFL Challenge Cup quarter-final at Cray Valley PM on Wednesday night.

After two previous postponements because of a waterlogged pitch the tie finally went ahead at the Badgers Sports Ground where a 50th-minute free kick from Adam Gross proved enough to send the Millers through to the last four.

  1. Tad disappointed to see this result last night. Looking at twitter,it seems that Deal had most of the game but could not get the ball into the net. With Greenwich Moneybags FC losing,I feel that with the other teams still left in the semis,we could have stood a chance to reach the final.
Lets hope that last nights’ exertions’ haven’t taken it out on the team,as a tough one on Saturday “beckons!”
    Good luck to all.

  2. Very disappointed with the result.
It’s hard to take and I feel for everyone at the club.
The lads must be absolutely gutted but they can be proud of their performance. The coaching staff are probably furious and can fully understand their frustration. That won’t change the result though.
It’s even more frustrating when you see that Greenwich lost last night.
The standard of the officials was appalling and I have emailed the Kent League as part of their campaign to stamp out foul language.
I’ve had a reply and the response wasn’t great but is it any wonder there is bad language when officials continuously ignore questions that need answers.
I love the standard of football in the Kent League and will never give up watching although with the other clubs
forcing up prices perhaps they need to realise why attendances are so low.
£8 for step 5 level is grossly over priced it needs looking at and yet the Kent League say they can’t do anything.
I am proud of the lads commitment and attitude but sorry about the result.
They need to be able to regroup and go again in the next game. COME ON DEAL.!!!!!

  3. E&B versus Cray in the semis!
Would have fancied our chances against them.
Missed out on a final there I’m afraid 🙁
