HOOPS v CROWBOROUGH PREVIEW

By Deal Town

Hoops manager Derek Hares is keeping his fingers crossed that skipper Dean Hill will be fit to return to the side for Saturday’s home league game against Crowborough Athletic.

“Deano” missed Tuesday’s FA Vase replay exit at the hands of Glebe because of a calf injury and Hares knows that Deal will need all his experience against a Crowborough side who put seven goals past Corinthian in their last league game – just three days after Corinthian had beaten Deal 3-1.

Crowborough, currently lying sixth in the Southern Counties East League table, are also still in the Vase after defeating Gravesham Borough 2-0 last Saturday and the Hoops will be looking to gain revenge for the 2-1 defeat they suffered at the Sussex side’s hands when they met at the Charles Ground in early April.

Deal Town Reserves meanwhile will hope to gain their first win of the season in the Kent County League on Saturday when they travel to Sheerness to take on Sheppey United Reserves.
