U14s vs Rochester City (KYL)
Our U14s travelled up to play Rochester City on Sunday. With both teams on similar records for the season, it looked like it could be another close game.
The game started well for Rochester, who created several chances and it was the hosts who took a deserved lead. Rochester were looking at doubling their score but, with White, Nixon and Strain clearing Deal's line well, it was Deal who scored next. A good clearance from White found Mackenzie-Frazer who ran at the goal, taking on a couple of defenders, and calmly rounded the keeper to make it 1-1.
With half time approaching it looked like it was going to be 1-1 at the break but in the last phase of play in the half Rochester took the lead again.

the second half needed to be better from Deal and, with a couple of changes, Kalvitis came into midfield and the dangerous Turner-Dauncey was shifted out wide; Deal then began to to dominate.
A well worked short corner between M-F and T-D was whipped in and Stennett was on the end to make it 2-2. The front three were now causing Rochester problems and it soon became 3-2, with Stennett scoring his 2nd of the game foloowing an assist from T-D.
Deal were playing better and looked like they were going to take the three points from the game. After good work from M-F he found T-D who slotted home to make it 4-2. A couple of changes with Star-Rose and Frampton returning, and with Weller now in front of the back four, Deal made it 5-2; a lovely turn and finish by Frampton, from outside the box, secured a well deserved 3 points after the 2nd half performance.

U16s vs Sittingbourne (Kent FA Cup)
Deal Town U16s produced a superb all-round performance to secure a convincing 5–0 victory, away to Sittingbourne U16s, in the third round of the Merit Youth County Cup. This having battling through extremely wet and muddy pitch conditions to reach the next stage.
Deal Town settled quickest, despite the heavy surface, and created the better chances throughout the opening 40 minutes. Their pressure paid off midway through the half when a cleverly worked short corner saw Khylian curl in an excellent delivery, allowing Frankie to tap home from close range, giving Deal Town a deserved 1–0 lead at the break.
Deal Town came out even stronger after half-time and wasted little time doubling the lead. Ollie threaded a perfectly weighted ball through to Ben, who finished calmly into the far corner. Not long after, Deal extended their advantage with a flowing move involving Edwin, who provided a superb assist for Ollie to make it 3–0.
Goal number four came from a brilliant solo run by Ollie, who beat two defenders before slotting past the Sittingbourne keeper for his second of the game. Deal Town continued to dominate, and Edwin, who had worked tirelessly all match, finally got the goal he deserved. A through ball from Frank put him in behind, and Edwin outpaced the Sittingbourne defence before driving a powerful low shot under the keeper to seal the 5–0 win and progress into the quarter finals of the Merit Kent FA Cup.

U18s vs Metrogas (KYL)
Deal Town U18s travelled away to Metrogas for an early kick-off, producing a performance built on discipline, organisation, and outstanding collective effort. The opening stages saw both sides competing intensely, with Metrogas enjoying slightly more possession and benefitting from the wind at their backs. Despite this advantage, Deal’s defensive structure remained solid throughout. The back line, supported by excellent distances between units, limited Metrogas to very few clear-cut chances.
Deal showed maturity and discipline, maintaining shape, staying compact, and defending the penalty area with real conviction. As a result, the sides went into the interval level at 0–0, with Deal growing into the game and showing promising signs going forward.
A few tactical adjustments at half-time, including rotated positions and a renewed emphasis on coordinated pressing, transformed the momentum of the match. Deal’s front-foot press immediately unsettled Metrogas, forcing repeated turnovers in dangerous areas.
The breakthrough came from one of those turnovers. Young Ollie, making his first start for the U18s after stepping up impressively from the U16s, showed exceptional composure. After winning the ball high up the pitch, he produced a calm and clinical finish to put Deal 1–0 ahead. A fantastic moment for the youngster and a fully deserved reward for his work rate and maturity.
Shortly after the opener, Deal introduced Jem and Antonio, adding further pace and attacking threat. Their impact was immediate. Constant pressure and intelligent movement caused Metrogas serious problems, and it was Jem who doubled Deal’s lead with another well-taken finish, making it 2–0.
Metrogas responded by committing players forward in search of a way back into the game, but Deal’s resilience was outstanding. Every player contributed to a brilliant defensive stand: last-ditch tackles, bodies on the line, and intelligent game management across the pitch.
Goalkeeper Lewis produced a commanding display, claiming crosses confidently and making several important saves to protect the clean sheet. The team’s togetherness, organisation, and desire to see the game out was exceptional. A superb reaction after last week, showcasing character, tactical maturity, and a collective commitment to the game plan. The group demonstrated exactly what Deal Town U18s football is about, hard work, discipline, bravery in and out of possession and clinical moments in attack.
FT: Metrogas 0–2 Deal Town
The U13s and Women's sides were both due to play at the Charles Ground on Sunday, however the pitch was unplayable as a result of the heavy rainfall overnight.
