Deal Town Women’s Team Manager to Step Down
The club can confirm that Callum Meadows will be stepping down from his role as Women’s Team Manager.
Callum has been an integral part of the club, leading the team with dedication and passion since 2022. Under their leadership, the team has progressed tremendously. Speaking about their decision, Callum said:
After three seasons as Deal Town Women’s manager, I have made the decision to step down from my role. From our first league game to now, it has been a complete success story, including one undefeated promotion. This season has seen the girls rise to new levels, beating teams they once feared.
As I make this decision, we also find ourselves in another promotion charge. I would like to thank the team, and anyone who has played for Deal Town Women, over the last three seasons. I would like to thank the club for all their support, especially Fiona who has played a vital role behind the scenes. Lastly, I’d like to thank friends and family and anyone who has come to support us. I think you would all agree, it’s been a brilliant progression to watch.
Members of the current squad were quick to provide credit to Callum, with Chelsea adding:
On behalf of the squad, we cannot thank Callum enough for his determination, efforts and success over the last three years. We have achieved things we never thought were possible and now we play some pretty amazing football! Although Callum’s departure is sad, this will be a fresh start for the ladies and it’s exciting to see what the future holds for Deal Town Women.
Equally, Jade wanted to pass on her wishes too:
Deal Town Women have been lucky enough to have spent three very successful years with Callum, as manager. This includes one promotion and currently sitting in a very promising position in the league. Callum, you will be missed by everyone in the team and we wish you all the best in whatever you do moving forward. Thanks for everything Callum.
Callum will still be seen around the Charles Ground on a first-team matchday, as he continues to support the club away from the on-field duties once held.
We have moved quickly to recruit a replacement and will be announcing the new management team later today.
