WILSON SECURES SECOND HOOPS AWARD

By Deal Town

Sam Wilson’s two goals in Deal Town’s 4-2 win at Tunbridge Wells on Saturday earned him his second end-of-season club award.

The striker had already picked up the “Players’ Player of the Year” trophy at the club presentation evening five days earlier, and Wilson then clinched the “Leading Scorer” award with his double strike at Tunbridge Wells which took his tally for the season to 17, one more than runner-up Connor Coyne.

The “Supporters’ Player of the Year” award went to goalkeeper James Tonkin while left-back Steve O’Brien picked up the “Manager’s Player of the Year” trophy.

Vince Kemp and Leigh Pellegrini shared the “Chairman’s Clubman of the Year” award and club treasurer Danielle Johnson collected the “Directors’ Clubman of the Year” trophy.

In making the awards, club chairman Dave Chmura also revealed that the club’s average home attendance during the season had risen to 133, an increase of 13 on last season’s average of 120.

  1. Well done to all the players this year.?
Hope we can keep as many of them for next season and keep the crowds coming in?

  2. Well done to Sam. He has covered a lot of ground this year up front scoring goals and at the back when needed, a great work rate. Congratulations!
