SHEPPEY UTD V HOOPS PREVIEW

By Deal Town

The Hoops will come up against one of the Southern Counties East League’s most in-form teams when they travel to Sheppey Utd on Saturday.

The Ites have won four of their last five games in all competitions, scoring 23 goals in the process, and risen to a season’s high fourth place in the table.

Deal lost the corresponding fixture 3-1 last season and manager Derek Hares said: “That’s always a difficult game but it’s a lovely set-up and a lovely pitch and I’m looking forward to the game.”

The Hoops will have to contend with the league’s leading scorer, Dan Bradshaw, who has already bagged 22 goals in all competitions including a brace in last Saturday’s 5-3 home win over Erith Town.

But Deal have also been finding the net regularly in recent weeks, with 12 in their last four matches, and if they can grab another victory on Saturday it would lift them level on points with Sheppey.
