Sevenoaks Town v Hoops Preview

By Deal Town

Deal take on one of the Southern Counties East League “form teams” when they meet Sevenoaks Town at Greatness Park on Saturday.

Micky Collins’ side have won 11 of their last 12 matches in all competitions and have risen to fourth place in the Premier Division, five points behind leaders Crowborough Athletic but with two matches in hand.

Last season’s corresponding fixture took place almost the year to the day and saw Deal pull off off an excellent  2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Charlie Dickens and Connor Coyne, which  sparked off a six-match winning run for the Hoops. But manager Derek Hares warned: “It will be very tough on Saturday because Sevenoaks are a better team now and are going very well.”

Deal will definitely be without injured duo Grant Bagley and Danny Smith while Jack Paxman is suspended, but Dean Hill and Andy Miller could return after their injury absences.

Deal Reserves meanwhile are at home again when they take on Sheppey United Reserves at the Charles Ground (2pm) in a Kent County League game. Last month Deal lost 2-1 at home to Sheppey in the Kent Intermediate Cup.
