Rusthall 2 Deal Town 2

By Deal Town

A late goal by Sam Wilson earned the Hoops a point at Rusthall on Saturday.

Deal, with the wind in their favour, dominated the first half and Wilson almost gave them a 10th-minute lead when he struck the woodwork. Dave Pilcher and Alfie Foster also went close for the Hoops but it was Rusthall who opened the scoring with 42 minutes strike through Nordibik Bobomurodov.

However, Deal then got back on level terms just before the break when Connor Coyne finished off a superb cross from Ben Chapman.

Rusthall, who had won their previous two matches to boost their hopes of avoiding relegation, started the second half strongly and went in front again when they were awarded a dubious-looking 73rd minute penalty which Stephen Harper converted.

Deal then went in search of another equaliser and it finally came in the dying seconds when Wilson found the bottom corner for his first goal in nine matches.

Deal: Tonkin, Chapman, Maughan, O’Brien, Foster, Arthurs (Alexander 79). B Munday (Scott 65), Bramble, Wilson, Pilcher (Reeves 71), Coyne.

Good to see that “normal service is resumed!”?
More of the same on Saturday, please!?

  2. Good to see the duo doing what strikers should do. Get back to doing what was looking so good 18 months ago. Come on the boys
