On Thursday 17th April we hosted our first youth team trials at the Charles Ground.

Trialling ahead of the 2025/2026 season, we had over 120 players attend the trials for our newly formed U13/U14/U16 and U18 sides. The potential new players were able to show off their skills, quality and technical attributes.

With our new youth set up we have also welcomed some fantastic new coaches to DTFC, bringing with them years of experience and high coaching qualifications.

Head of Youth Engagement, Andrew Nixon, had this to say on the trials:

The plan for our youth teams is to support the players through their football development. Our overarching aim is to faciliate each individual being able to reach their own potential. We have already seen the fantastic opportunity that some of our current U18/U23 players have had this season and we now have a clear pathway through to first team football. 

As the 2024/2025 now looks to come to a conclusion, each team's approach to pre-season training will shortly commence. The club are excited for our four youth teams to gain momentum for the season ahead, where they will participate in the Kent Youth League.
