The setting up a new Deal Town Supporters’ Club has moved a step closer following an open meeting at the Charles Ground on Sunday.
The Hoops have been without a functioning supporters’ club for several years but at Sunday’s meeting a seven-strong steering committee was elected to oversee the setting up of a new club.
Pedz Van Walwyk, one of the organisers of the meeting, said: “I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along, their support and encouragement is really appreciated. The steering committee will now work alongside the club’s main board in setting up the new supporters’ club ahead of a formal AGM in the summer.”
Meanwhile the Hoops’ club annual meeting will take place in the clubhouse this Friday (March 6) from 7pm.
