MEETING TO DISCUSS NEW HOOPS’ SUPPORTERS’ CLUB

By Deal Town

An open meeting to discuss the setting up of a new Deal Town Supporters’ Club takes place in the Charles Ground clubhouse on Sunday (March 1st) at 12noon.

The Hoops have been without a functioning supporters’ club for several years and Pedz Van Walwyk, one of the organisers of Sunday’s meeting, said: “Our aim will be to work together with the main board of the football club to mutually benefit both the supporters and the club itself,  and we are hoping that as many people as possible will attend the meeting so that we can gather a wide range of views.”

Hoops’ chairman Dave Chmura said: “With our number of supporters increasing for both home and away matches the football club have acknowledged the need to re-introduce the supporters’ club, and we have also been encouraged by the fact that a number of our regular supporters want to play an active part in setting it up.

“Although the existing football club directors will oversee the new formation, the supporters’ club will have their own sub-committee and we are hoping that it will be up and running before the end of this season.”
