HOOPS V SHEPPEY UNITED PREVIEW

By Deal Town

The Hoops take on Sheppey United in their final home game of the season on Easter Monday (3pm) knowing they now have a fight on their hands to achieve a top-10 finish.

Saturday’s 5-1 defeat at Corinthian has seen Derek Hares’ side slip from seventh to 11th place after Erith Town, Glebe, Canterbury City and Lordswood all won to leapfrog the Hoops in the table.

After the Sheppey game Deal finish their season away to Tunbridge Wells next Saturday and they will want to go to the Culverden Stadium having picked up something from a Sheppey side who are clinging onto sixth place despite having lost six of their last seven matches.

The Hoops, who will be without the unavailable Kane Smith,  will also be looking to avenge the 3-1 defeat they suffered at Sheppey in the opening weeks of the season.
