HOOPS V LORDSWOOD PREVIEW

By Deal Town

With the forecast for more rain overnight the club have decided to hold a pitch inspection at 0945am on Saturday ahead of the Hoops’ home game with Lordswood.
Should the match go ahead as scheduled Derek Hares’ side will have the chance to complete their first league “double” of the season, having won 3-2 at Lordswood in October thanks to goals from Ben Chapman, Charlie Walsh and Macauley Murray (pen).
The Chatham-based club, who are managed by former Hoops boss Darren Anslow, are currently in 13th place in the table, two points behind Deal having played a game more. Hares said: “Lordswood have had some decent results, including a good 2-0 victory against Tunbridge Wells last weekend, but hopefully we can finish with a win before Christmas.”
Hoops skipper Luke Bigginton is available again after completing his three-match suspension, but Hares added: “Luke may not go straight back into the starting XI because Lee Scott and Alfie Foster both did well at Fisher last week.”
Jack Penny is also a doubt after injuring his ankle in the 1-0 defeat while Kane Smith, Sam Wilson and Ben Cardwell are all definitely “out” because of injuries.
