HOOPS V CROWBOROUGH PREVIEW

By Deal Town

The Hoops begin a run of four home games in a row on Saturday when they take on a Crowborough Athletic side who, after a poor start to the season, have suddenly found the sort of form that we have been used to seeing from the Sussex outfit in recent years.
The Crows have narrowly missed out on promotion in the two previous seasons but spent the first three months of the current campaign in the bottom half of the table. However victories in their last four league games have lifted Crowborough above the Hoops into seventh place and they will come to the Charles Ground knowing that it has proved a happy hunting ground for them after achieving victories in their last two visits.
The Hoops, in contrast, are without a win in six matches in league and cup but manager Derek Hares says: “We’ve still got a good points total and one win and I think we’ll be fine again. It’s not as though we are going out and getting turned over by teams and I couldn’t ask for any more from the boys in terms of commitment.”
Kane Smith and Joe Reeves should both be available after missing last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Fisher but Alfie Foster is suspended following his sending off in that game.
