HOOPS V CRAY VALLEY PREVIEW

By Deal Town

If you had to pick out the Hoops’ best win of the season so far it would probably be their 3-2 success at Cray Valley on December 8 when goals by Ben Chapman (two) and Billy Munday upset the high-flying Millers.
Since then, however, Derek Hares’ side have gone seven matches without a victory and they will have to try to rediscover the form they showed against the Millers last month when the teams meet again at the Charles Ground on Saturday.
For Cray are currently on an impressive run which has seen them win their last six matches including a 3-0 victory over Lordswood in midweek which lifted them back into fourth place in the table, and they are also through to the last 16 of the FA Vase.
The Millers’ success is mostly based on their fearsome attack which has scored 69 goals in 22 league games and so the Hoops will be hoping that ‘keeper James Tonkin can repeat the excellent performance that he produced in last week’s 2-2 draw with Punjab United.
