HOOPS AND SUTTON TRY AGAIN TONIGHT

By Deal Town

The Hoops and Sutton Athletic will try again on Tuesday night to play their delayed Southern Counties East League Challenge Cup third round tie.

The tie was originally scheduled to be played on January 20 but was postponed because Sutton’s London Hire ground at Hextable, near Swanley, was waterlogged.

Sutton’s Division One league game at Holmesdale last Saturday  was also hit by the weather, which means Athletic haven’t played since their 1-1 home draw with FC Elmstead on January 13.

Deal, for their part, were in action at the weekend, losing 4-3 at Tunbridge Wells, and they will be looking to get back on the winning trail at Sutton where the prize for the victors will be a trip to Whitstable Town in the quarter-finals.

  1. Hoping the game will be on tonight but don’t know anything about them and never been there.
It will be a chance for the lads to get defeat out of their system and bounce back.
A cup run will put us back on track and another chance to get behind the lads and cheer them to victory.
Perhaps a game where they can create chances and score a few goals.
The reward a tie against the “oystermen” Whitstable.
A great incentive and as fan looking forward to that already.
    Come on Deal.!!!!

  2. Will be tight,I think.
I remember the home game, a couple or seasons or so back, when we only scraped through on penalties, after extra time????
    None of that tonight please????????
