HOOPS AND CRAY VALLEY TRY AGAIN IN TROPHY

By Deal Town

Deal Town and Cray Valley PM will try again on Tuesday night (7.45pm) to play their Kent Reliance Senior Trophy semi-final after Saturday’s scheduled tie had to be postponed because the Charles Ground pitch was waterlogged.

The two sides will be bidding to book a place in the final at Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium on Sunday, April 9, where they will meet Ashford United who defeated Canterbury City 3-0 in the other semi-final at the weekend.

On the injury front midfielder Joe Reeves is still ruled out by a foot injury, but Hoops’ manager Derek Hares will be hoping that Saturday’s postponement works to his side’s advantage in one area in that the Millers will now have to contend with the potential traffic problems presented by travelling out of London on a midweek teatime.

If the scores are level at full-time the tie will be decided on the night by extra-time and, if necessary, penalties.
