Recap
A controversial late penalty prevented Deal from denying joint league leaders Corinthian all three points on Saturday.
Emmanuel Oloyede’s 15th-minute strike gave the home side a half-time lead but Deal were back on level terms within two minutes of the restart through winger Troy Howard.
And Derek Hares’ side then looked set to stretch their unbeaten run to eight matches until Corinthian were awarded a fiercely-disputed 89th-minute spot kick which Oscar Housego converted.
It was tough on Deal, with assistant-manager Steve King “tweeting” afterwards: “Football is such a cruel game, I will say no more. Brilliant effort from the boys today, and didn’t get what you deserved.”
Some small consolation for the Hoops’ management team will be that, with Hollands & Blair losing 6-0 at Chatham, Deal’s “Goals Against” tally of 11 is now the lowest in the SCEL Premier Division after they again produced another impressive defensive display at Gay Dawn Farm.
Deal: Tonkin, Paxman, Penny, Foster, Smith, Scott (Greenfield), Murray, Howard, Munday, Hark, Wilson.
