FISHER 2 DEAL TOWN 3

By Deal Town

Deal picked up their first away win of the season on Saturday thanks to a commanding first-half performance at Fisher’s new St Paul’s ground.

The Hoops went in at the break with a 3-0 lead courtesy of a double strike inside the opening six minutes by Joe Reeves plus a third goal just past the half hour mark from Grant Bagley, who had an outstanding game at centre-half.

Already missing several players through injury or unavailability, Deal’s problems worsened when Andy Miller went off injured after just eight minutes but that didn’t prevent them from dominating the first period against a Fisher side who went into the game boosted by victories in their two previous matches.

And the Rotherhithe outfit did offer more of a threat in the second half although not before Miller’s replacement, Harry Alexander, almost made it 4-0 when he hit the Fisher woodwork on the hour mark.

A minute later Toya Adeshina pulled one back for the home side and Fisher then made it 3-2 in the dying stages through Joseph Adesina, although the Hoops were convinced that Bagley had cleared the ball before it crossed the line. It came too late, however, to change the final result and the three points lifted Deal a welcome three places in the table.

Deal: Tonkin, Paxman, Hark, Scott, Bagley, Anderson, Reeves, Miller (Alexander 8), Coyne, Adams O’Brien.

  1. Great result. 🙂 Let’s hope those injuries clear up for next week,as it looks like we’re down to the bare bones at the moment.
Another tough one against E&B coming up on the horizon, although they’re not the team they used to be!
Another 3 pts please next week! 🙂
