ERITH TOWN V HOOPS PREVIEW

By Deal Town

The Hoops will play only their seventh league game of the year at Erith Town on Wednesday night.
Repeated fixture postponements because of the weather has meant that Deal have only played 25 league matches, the joint lowest number in the league along with Whitstable Town, and they now face a busy schedule to get all their games played before the end of April – starting with Erith, who are currently groundsharing at VCD Athletic’s ground in Crayford.
Erith are one of the teams that the Hoops have played in 2018, with goals by Ben Chapman and Sam Wilson earning Deal a 2-1 victory at the Charles Ground in mid-January.
That victory lifted the Hoops into fifth place in the table while leaving the Dockers in 15th place, but there are now only three positions between the two clubs, with Erith having picked up four points from their last two games including a surprise 2-1 win at leaders Sevenoaks last month.
