At long last the directors at Deal Town FC are proud to announce the launch of our Deal Town Football Academy for 16-18 year old boys.
This announcement has been a long time coming since we parted company with our reserve side, whilst today it may well be considered a bit premature as we
had planned for a 2019 start, but with Canterbury leaving us for pastures new it gave us the chance to bring the whole concept forward by 12 months.
We will be working in conjunction with Generation Sports Academy (GSA) from Thanet, who will provide both the football coaching and the
educational side of things here at the Charles ground in yet another fully committed community project for the people of Deal and the surrounding areas.
This academy, along with our close ties with Deal Town Rangers FC, should benefit all concerned in offering young men who love their sport the chance of
completing a BTEC National diploma in a variety of subjects and eventual work in the sports industry.
I could only have dreamt of something like this when it was time for me to leave school some 50 years ago. There will be an awful lot of work to do to be ready
for a smooth start in September, so if you are looking for something to do during the summer break from football please just turn up at the ground.
Although we are on the up with all the improvements that you can see round the ground, I can only see our beloved football club going from strength to strength with all that we
have done so far and with what we’ve got planned, and believe me there is more to come and there definitely “ain’t no stoppin’ us now”.
