CORINTHIAN V HOOPS PREVIEW

By Deal Town

After the disappointment of two postponed matches in the past week the Hoops will be hoping to get back into action on Saturday in their Kent Senior Trophy first round tie at Corinthian.
And, unlike Westside, their opponents in the twice-delayed FA Vase tie whom they have never played before, the Corinthian side will be very familiar to Derek Hares and his players. The clubs, who are both nicknamed the “Hoops”, have met eight times during the past two seasons in league and cup competitions with Corinthians winning four times, Deal twice, and two draws.
Their last meeting was in April when Corinthian won 5-1 at Gay Dawn Farm to stay top of the league, but they were eventually pipped for the title by Cray Valley. Michael Golding’s side haven’t started this season quite so impressively but victories in their last four matches suggests that Corinthian are starting to find their best form again and so Hares’ Hoops can expect another testing encounter on Saturday – weather permitting!
