CHARLES GROUND HOSTING KENT SCHOOLS’ CUP FINAL

By Deal Town

A big crowd is expected at the Charles Ground on Thursday (March 24) when Dover Grammar School for Boys take on Ravens Wood School from Bromley in the final of the Kent Schools’ FA Under-15 Portex Cup final (7pm).

Over 150 tickets for the match had already been sold by the weekend and organisers are predicting that the eventual attendance could reach 250.

The Dover boys know they are facing a tough task against a Ravens Wood side with an impressive soccer pedigree. Dover coach Steve King, who is also Deal Town’s first team coach, said: “Ravens Wood are former National champions and earlier this season beat us 2-1 in the National Cup, which is the only game we haven’t won in our last 14.

“The team have done brilliantly to get to the final and we will give it our best shot.”

Admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for students, and £1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the KSFA’s charity partner, Demelza House Childrens’ Hospice.
