CAN THE HOOPS DO IT AGAIN?

By Deal Town

Can the Hoops do it again? Three times already this season they have beaten teams who were league leaders at the time and they have the chance for a fourth such success in Saturday’s away game at AFC Croydon Athletic.
Croydon moved to the top of the Southern Counties East League thanks to the point they picked up in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw at Rusthall which extended the Rams’ unbeaten record in league and cup to seven games.
But with only four defeats in all matches so far this season Deal will travel to south London in good spirits. Manager Derek Hares said: “Our confidence is high and we’ve already beaten some good teams. We’re expecting a tough game but there’s no reason why we can’t put on a good performance.
“Things are going well at the moment but we know how quickly things can change in football. One win and you are right up there but lose one and you’re almost halfway down. It’s a strong league but we are holding our own.”
