The Hoops have been drawn away to fellow Southern Counties East League Premier Division club Corinthian in the first round proper of The Buildbase FA Vase.
And, with the Longfield outfit having the same nickname as Deal, it’s going to be a real “Battle of the Hoops” at Gay Dawn Farm on Saturday, October 13.
Derek Hares’ side won 1-0 on their last visit there in April thanks to a Luke Bigginton goal, while in the two teams’ only other meeting in the Vase it was Corinthian who came out on top by the same scoreline in a preliminary round tie at Gay Dawn Farm in the 1991-92 season.
Mike Golding’s team have made a solid start to the current campaign with 10 points from their opening five league games and were also impressive 3-0 winners over Glebe in the Vase on Saturday.
