A decade after first arriving at the Charles Ground on loan, Joe Reeves has become part of the furniture at Deal Town. Reevo is a versatile, wide player who’s seen the club transform over his spell at the club. Playing under three different managers, witnessing growing crowds and to SCEFL Champions.

Born in Dover, Joe’s football career began with the Soccer Elite scholarship in Lenham, a programme that paired classroom work with daily training and was overseen by coach Scott Lindsey. In his first year of his scholarship Joe won the National College League Youth Alliance beating the Gordon Stratchan Foundation Academy at Ashton Gate. At 17 he joined Maidstone United, splitting time between first-team training and reserve matches before spending two seasons at Ramsgate.

A loan move to Deal followed and, injuries aside, he’s never left. Through time at the club and appearances he’s among the longest-tenured players in the current squad.

Reeves is most at home at right-back or wing-back, and likes to bomb forward, overlap, and get assists.

Reeves’ ties to the club run through his family, as Kingy is his cousin.

Off the pitch, he recently became a father, he co-founded Dynamic Sports, a sports coaching company and he plays golf and darts, and he’ll freely accept that he has a soft spot for Jaegerbombs: “I’m the one ordering the trays.”
