MENS FIRST TEAM
Alfie Foster is one of Deal’s longest serving players. Joe Reeves has been at the club longer than Alf but Ben Chapman is the only current player who has made more appearances for Deal than Alfie, with only a handful of appearances between them.
Alf was born in London but moved to Spain when he was young, returning back to England when he was ten.
He joined Ramsgate youth when he was 13 years old and played alongside another Deal player, Jack Paxman, but with no under 18s at Ramsgate at the time he moved on to Margate Under 18s and progressed to Margate’s Under 23s and then to the first team. He then had a couple of seasons in the Chatham first team before joining Deal Town midway through the 2019/20 season.
Before moving to Deal, Alf knew Kingy when his school team, Dane Court played against Kingy’s Dover Grammar School team. He also knew a number of the Deal Town team from school football; Dan Adams, Harry Alexander and Tonks. Looking to reduce his long commute to Chatham it made his move to Deal a simple choice.
Alfie started at Deal as a centre midfielder but transitioned to centre back, where he has made most of his appearances.
Alf won the league with Deal in 2023/24 a moment which he rates as his best Deal memory in his time at the club. In the 2024/25 season with Deal’s recent promotion to Step 4, Alfie played 38 games over the season and eclipsed 250 career appearances for Deal.
In 2025/26 Alfie is starting his seventh season at the Charles Ground.
