opposition history

Ten years ago Spencer Owen built Hashtag United as an idea, a football club created in public, with millions watching the journey unfold online.

It began with matches against friends, creator teams…anyone up for a game. The matches went online. The views started climbing. Hundreds of thousands. Now millions.

What started as football content quickly became something bigger, a global community following every match and every Hashtag moment.

So we turned it into something real. Hashtag United became a real club.

We entered non-league and started climbing the pyramid, with the same community that watched it begin, now following every step.

Today the club continues to grow.
